Is the MDAC Required by Airlines Before Boarding?
Yes, some airlines may ask passengers to show proof of a completed Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) before allowing them to board their flight to Malaysia. While this requirement may vary depending on the airline and departure country, it’s increasingly common for check-in agents to verify that passengers have fulfilled all Malaysian entry requirements — and that includes the MDAC.
Travelers who are unable to provide proof of a submitted MDAC may be delayed or even denied boarding. For this reason, it’s strongly recommended that you complete your MDAC well in advance of your flight.
